Sarawak
is the largest of the thirteen states in Malaysia with an
area of 124,450 sq-kilometers is located on the northern
coast of the island of Borneo with a population of about
2.2 million. Sarawak is a land of great cultural diversity,
with strong ethnicity boasting 27 different groups. The
three major races - Dayak ( including Iban, Bidayuh and
Orang Ulu ), Malay/Melanau and Chinese, apart from small
Indian and Eurasian communities. The people of Sarawak and
for that matter are well-known for their warmth and great
hospitality. Sarawak is the most developed state in Malaysia,
its economy is based on natural gas and oil, timber, agriculture
and hi-tech manufacturing. It has a tropical climate ranging
from around 22 to 32 degree C.
