The inaugural Miss Tourism Intercontinental was incorporated and successfully organized in-conjunction with the Sarawak Tourism Year 2003 and was celebrated and held in Kuching City, Sarawak, Malaysia in 2003.

A total of 32 delegates/beauty queens from 32 countries from 6 continents participated at the Miss Tourism Intercontinental 2003 World Grand Final from 1 to 12 April, 2003 in Kuching City.

The Miss Tourism Intercontinental is conceptualized as the most prestigious created to bring peoples of various communities and cultures from all over the world to converge, to share common values and foster international friendship and understanding. And simultaneously to search for the world’s best ambassadresses to promote their respective countries in furtherance of tourism, international goodwill and cultures.
