Miss Cheongsam is the most popular and prestigious beauty pageant in Sarawak which is organized for the 22 consecutive years since 1990 as an annual community and charity event, to celebrate the Chinese New Year festival, to promote Chinese culture, to foster closer friendships amongst the Chinese community, to provide an opportunity to learn new things and experiences, make new friends, gain popularity, and to contribute to charity for a good cause.
Is it a Charity event?
It is an annual charity event aims to raise RM50,000 for the Chung Hua Middle Schools 1, 3 & 4 Kuching.
Who is the Organiser?
Mr. Alaric Soh of Alaric’s Productions Company is the organiser, he is the most experienced and reputable beauty pageant organiser in Sarawak, and the only beauty pageant organiser in the world to be assessed and certified for ISO9001:2000 (Quality Management in Beauty Pageants). He is also the creator and organizer for Miss Tourism Intercontinental, Miss Tourism Pageant and Miss Borneo Beautiful.
When and where is the Grand Final?
The grand final is to be held on 4 February, 2012 on the 13 days of Chinese New Year at Riverside Majestic Hotel, Kuching. All selected participants must be in Kuching from 30 January to 4 February, 2012.
Is airticket provided?
Yes, the organiser will provide return airtickets to Kuching including hotel accommodation and all meals during the pageant to all participants.
When is the Closing Date for submission of entry?
The last day to submit your entry is on 18 December, 2011.
What are the qualifications to take part?
You must be a Malaysian, unmarried single lady, age between 17 & 25 year, able to communicate in any Chinese dialect, and minimum height 163cm.
How can I take part, and where can I get the entry form?
No entry form is required. All you have to do is email your most recent close-up photo, IC name, IC number, age, height, phone contact and hometown to misscheongsam@gmail.com. Late entry will not be accepted.
Do I have to wear swimwear?
No, you don’t have to wear swimwear. All contest attires will be provided by the organizer except cheongsam wear. You must provide your own cheongsam wear, you can either design your own, purchase, or rent.
